Economic Advisory Commission

The Economic Advisory Commission was formed as an advisory body to Council. Focused on the retention and expansion of current businesses and attracting new industrial and commercial investment, as well as the creation of high value jobs, the EAC in coordination with the Department of Strategic Economic Initiatives may:
1. Advise Council on matters related to Economic Development
2. Provide input to Economic Development strategy for consideration of Council
3. Contribute to development of an annual business plan and relevant performance measures
4. Participate in the execution of the business plan as determined by Council
Applications were sought for up to four vacancies for Community members to begin their term September 2010 and to expire August 31, 2011. Community members are preferably representatives from each of the priority sectors identified in the Economic Strategy: Advanced Technology, Education and Tourism.
