Film companies are interested in filming in our local businesses, homes and neighbourhoods.
This industry helps to provide employment opportunities to many local residents in various capacities and provides tremendous financial benefits to our community. There are over 700 Maple Ridge residents employed by the Film Industry.
Maple Ridge is one of the closest municipalities to Vancouver which allows production companies to receive maximum British Columbia Production Services Tax Credits (PSTC).
Film Productions in Maple Ridge
Maple Ridge hosted over 700 shoot days through 2007/2008. Based on a conservative estimate of $10,000 injected into the community per 'shoot' day, this is a $7 million dollar impact.
Maple Ridge was the site of significant film activity in 2007/2008 with over 100 productions/T.V. series shot here, including: Stan Helsing, I Love You Beth Cooper, Scooby Doo, The Guard, Supernatural, Flash Gordon and Battlestar Gallactica.
Actors who recently filmed here include Steven Segal, Anne Heche, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Charlize Theron, Matthew Perry, Ashley Judd and Dolph Lundgren.
